Panel Fitment Statement
We sell steel reproduction panels from global suppliers that have been used on Australian vehicles for around 15 years. On average these panels are half to a quarter of the price you would pay from the original vehicle manufacturer and allow restoration and repair projects to be completed at much lower than Genuine Parts price.
While our panels are made to replicate the original panels, adjustments to alignment and openings are usually required to achieve the best fit.
We recommend a full Trial Fit before Paint to ensure any alterations that are required can be done quite easily while in the primed state but can be frustrating when the panel has had final paint. At the minimum we recommend to Clean out threads on all nuts with taps to clear away primer, Enlarge bolt holes with a step drill , Check clearances for door handles, locks etc. and check seal attachment holes around doors are Drilled all the way through.
Panels are not like mechanical components that Just bolt on. Alignment between neighbouring panels and making adjustments for individual vehicles can be time consuming and is a bit of an art especially in these older vehicles that have multiple panels making up single sections. This is where the skills of an Old School panel beater is often required.
Landcruisers are sold all over the world with some panels being on production vehicles for over 40 years there can be some differences in features like hole positions across the range i.e. mirror, snorkel, badge and aerial mounting holes etc. It is generally easier to drill holes as required than fill unwanted holes so we try to minimize the number of holes in our panels when we can, however we can't control the production runs of our suppliers so you may have holes in panels that you may need to fill.
All reproduction panels sold in our online store are Inspected before despatch to insure they pass our local in house quality control. There may have minor marks left over from manufacturing such as grind and press marks, superficial dents from the production factory or partially incomplete folds. These artifacts are beyond our control.
Any major flaws or damage will be picked up during our In house inspection process and the panel will be diverted to other sales channels. Some cut outs maybe required for interior lights / handbrakes etc. as some panels are only made in LHD versions.
Any filling and pre paint preparation to achieve the desired final finish of the panel is the responsibility of the panel technician, painter and end user. If you or your panel person is not able or not willing to sand out use small amounts of filler to achieve the desired surface result these panels are possibly not for you.
For the best outcome We recommend assistance from an experienced panel beater, but obviously only you can determine what is right for your vehicle.
After we have inspected the panel we allocate a Unique number, record the Inspection photos and re pack the panel ready for despatch.
Once despatched our panels are Fully guaranteed for transport to arrive in the same condition they left us.
Customers can request a copy of the inspection report before despatch.
